Useful calculations. Clear assumptions.

CalcBrite builds practical calculators for real-world decisions. Every result shows how it was reached, so you can judge it for yourself.

What every calculator should be

TransparentEvery assumption, formula and conversion factor is shown.
UnderstandableResults are explained in plain language, not jargon.
UsefulWe don't ask for information you couldn't reasonably know.
HonestEstimates are labelled as estimates, with ranges where it matters.
CurrentAnything tied to prices, rules or data shows when it was last updated.

How calculators are built

  1. 01 →ResearchFind the best available data and how professionals estimate it.
  2. 02 →Formula / modelWrite the math down, with every assumption named.
  3. 03 →TestingTest calculations against published examples, known scenarios and edge cases.
  4. 04 →PublicationShip with sources, methodology and a review date.
  5. 05 →ImprovementFold in corrections and new data over time.

Improvement loops back to research: when inputs, prices or rules change, the calculator is revised and its “last reviewed” date updated.

Sources

We use credible external sources — government data, standards bodies and published industry figures — wherever they exist. Each calculator lists its sources at the bottom of the page, next to the date it was last reviewed.

Where no good source exists, we say so and explain the assumption we made instead.

Estimates are estimates. Each calculator separates what we calculate from what only your provider or professional can confirm.

Who’s behind it

CalcBrite is built by a small team of software design and product development practitioners with decades of combined experience building enterprise systems. We bring that discipline — documented assumptions, tested logic, auditable data — to everyday calculators.

Corrections

Found an assumption that’s off, or a result that doesn’t match reality? Tell us. Corrections are reviewed and, when accepted, noted on the calculator’s page.
